Description

As Managing Director, Information Technology for NASCAR, Steve Worling oversees the organization’s IT department and is responsible for delivering and supporting technology throughout NASCAR and the motorsports industry.

With NASCAR offices, tracks and teams based across the country, Worling works closely with and has oversight over a range of internal & external businesses, industry partners and sponsors, as the company rolls out and executes against a technology roadmap aligned with long-term objectives for one of North America’s premier sports organizations.

Since joining NASCAR in 2002, Worling has served in a number of roles, including as a Network Administrator and overseeing the Infrastructure team before being named Managing Director of Information Technology in 2015. This range of experience helped Worling contribute to the development of the NASCAR Fan and Media Engagement Center, which is designed to help teams, tracks, sponsors, broadcast partners and NASCAR itself receive more data on fan and media reaction.

Prior to NASCAR, Worling worked for Internet service provider E-xpedient, leading a team of engineers in building out a support structure for the startup company. Worling started his career in the automotive industry as the network and P.C. engineer for Crane Cams, working on all aspects of IT for the manufacturer of camshafts and valve train components. A homegrown NASCAR talent, Worling is a native of Daytona Beach and currently resides in Port Orange, Fla. with his wife Christine.
