Description

Research facilities and payloads are being developed for the International Space Station, starting on flight 5A.1. The Human Research Facility Rack 1 will be the first facility class rack to be delivered and integrated into the station. This suite of equipment will allow the human research teams to begin to baseline key physiologic data on humans living and working for prolonged periods of time in a microgravity environment. The second type of facility to be placed on orbit will be one of 8 EXPRESS (EXpedite the PRocessing of Experiments to Space Station) racks.
