Synopsis

The training requirements are daunting: Asia’s air traffic will double in the next decade with more deliveries in more aircraft deliveries than US and EU combined. In the US, unprecedented rates of ATC retirements will add pressure. The traditional classroom Learning 1.0 lecture won’t be able to keep up and the Learning 2.0 digital lecture is not much better. One solution is technology enabled team-based learning (“TBL”), a very specific form of blended learning which incorporates real-time performance data to help educators achieve Learning Objectives the same way pilots achieve Landing Objectives. Nearly half the medical schools in the US have adopted TBL and six of the ten largest global healthcare companies are piloting TBL, will aviation be next?
