Trans American Airlines began operations in 1945 led by a group of war veterans. They believed that low-cost air travel was the future of aviation and thus originated air coach. Trans American proved that air coach was economically possible and pioneered the way for what is the standard of today's air travel. It operated DC-6B's and DC-4's flying routes between New York, California, and Florida.
