Naturally occurring events are vital in the forward movement of scientific research. Data collected from NASA on meteorite landings helps researchers identify and locate these fallen objects from space. However, obtaining this data is a complex process and there are faults within the methods used. This paper explores a particular data collection method for meteorite landings and compares it to another dataset where the two are surprisingly similar. The patterns revealed by combining two datasets show that there are limits or borders to how a dataset can and should be used. With meteorite landings, the internet-reliant data collection method provides a road-map for expanding this data, improving ethics, and making way for more accurate scientific discoveries.
