Abstract

The interview covered cognitive biases in intelligence analysis, and, also, rapport-based, non-coercive interrogation techniques.

Guest Biography

Dr. Misty Duke is a lecturer at the University of Texas at El Paso in national security studies, criminal justice, and psychology who is affiliated with its National Security Studies Institute. She has conducted research on child suggestibility, juror decision-making, and the development of rapport in investigative interviews and interrogations. Her current research interests are in exploring non-coercive methods for obtaining information from sources in intelligence interviews and interrogations. Her teaching interests are in scientific approaches to intelligence interviews and interrogations and in research methodology and statistical analyses.
