Abstract
The untitled article to which this IBPP record refers was written by Mr. McLord Obioha for USAfrica Online at http://www.usafricaonline.com, but is no longer available at that location. It is not available for download due to copyright restrictions. Please contact USAfrica Online (News@USAfricaonline.com) for details).
The article exemplifies the strong opinion often transmitted during national elections when the mass media are afforded some degree of latitude. IBPP notes that Mr. Obasanjo is often cited as the only president since Nigeria became a modern, independent nation-state to voluntarily leave office at the end of his term. Much later, he was imprisoned by the Nigerian dictator, Sani Abacha, and was only recently released. Only a slightly edited abridgement of the article follows.
Readers are directed to the USAfrica Online website for a contrary article on Mr. Obasanjo by Mr. Kase Lawal, and other news about Africa.
