- 2000-2007: Research fellowships and positions as research associate at the Smithsonian Institution, Harvard University, and U Bonn. Inter alia, research associate at the Science Operation Center of NASA’s small explorer mission “SWAS”
- Since 2007: Space administration of the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- Since 2011: German delegate to ESA for satellite communications
