Andrea Farmer is Director of Sponsorship for Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, operated by Delaware North. She is responsible for developing new business relationships and building upon current partnerships to tell the space story for generations to come. She cultivates public and private sector sponsorships to create interactive, inspirational and educational experiences for guests from around the world.
Andrea began her career at Delaware North in 2004 in the marketing department. As the senior public relations and content manager, she was responsible for creating attendance-building publicity, content for video news releases, print publications, website and exhibit signage as well as community relations. Of her achievements, she is most proud of launching the national PR campaign for the Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction, supporting a double-digit increase in attendance since the grand opening.
Prior to joining Delaware North, Andrea worked for 22 years at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens. From 1997 to 2004, Farmer served as the Director of PR and Marketing. She began her career there in 1980, working in food service part-time while completing high school and college. She also served as Director of Communications for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce for two years and as Director of Marketing for Cape Leisure Corporation where she managed marketing, advertising, social media and public relations for eight state and national park locations.
Farmer is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Space Coast Chapter and serves on the board of directors and as treasurer for Brevard Cultural Arts. She earned her Accreditation in Public Relations in 1992 and her Certified Public Relations Counselor designation in 2010 through the Florida Public Relations Association.
She was honored as the recipient of the 2013 Harry Kolcum Memorial News & Communication Award presented by the National Space Club Florida Committee. Farmer was named the 2007 PR Professional of the Year by FPRA’s Space Coast chapter.
Andrea graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received an associate degree from Seminole State College.
