Biography

Rene M. Clemens has served as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's (ERAU) Assistant Chief Flight Instructor in Daytona Beach since 2017. As the Assistant Chief, she pursues safe, efficient and customer-satisfying flight training that complies with ERAU and FAA policies and procedures. She also provides supervision to the Flight Training Managers, Flight Supervisor’s Flight and Ground Instructor Pilots, Flight Dispatch, and Scheduling. She reports directly to the Chief Flight Instructor in the management of flight training to include safety of training, quality of training, and student progress.

She began her aviation journey in 2003 at the PanAm International Flight Academy in Ft. Pierce, Florida, receiving her initial pilot certificate before moving to Daytona Beach and completing her Certified Flight Instructor certification at Phoenix East Aviation. In 2013, Rene began her ERAU career as an Instructor Pilot and has worked as a Flight Supervisor, Flight Standards Pilot, and Assistant Training Manager. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics in 2018 and is currently finishing her Masters in Aeronautics with a concentration in Education Technology.
