Biography
Jennifer Roberts holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and ESL from Georgia State University. Currently, she works at the Language Institute at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. As the Aviation English Coordinator, she is involved with the development and implementation of English language programs for ab-initio pilots, as well as non-flight students pursuing various aerospace majors. Prior to her role at Embry-Riddle, she served as an English Language Fellow in Indonesia under the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. She has also worked as a visiting instructor at Tsinghua University in Beijing and as a Global TESOL Instructor at Guangzhou University. Through the University Linkages Program coordinated by the U.S. Department of State, she has also served to support curricula revision with the University of Baghdad. Jennifer’s research interests include the pedagogical applications of corpus linguistics, the development of English for Specific Purposes programs and materials, and language policy and planning.
