Biography
Robert (Rob) Burke
Manager, Federal Aviation Administration
Rob is the manager of the Air Carrier Training Systems and Voluntary Safety Programs Branch (AFS-280) at FAA Headquarters.
Rob was the FAA’s Designated Federal Official for the 208 Aviation Rulemaking Committee which was the foundation of the ICAO Loss of Control and Recovery Training (LOCART) initiative. Rob is currently the FAA Co-Chair for the Air Carrier Training Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ACT ARC).
Rob has extensive experience in rulemaking and policy development. Rob was a subject matter expert on both the ATP (FOQ) rule and the Part 121 Stall and Upset (N&O) rule.
Rob came to the FAA in 2006 after 14 years of air carrier experience which included both domestic and international operations. Rob held part 121 air carrier positions in management, training and a line pilot, serving as a Captain, Check Airman and Chief Pilot.
