Bio
Dr. Dan Macchiarella is the Interim Dean of the College of Aviation and a Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Science at the Daytona Beach Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In this position, he is responsible for the academic and administrative leadership of the college.
He formerly served as an academic department chair and research principle investigator. He is the author of over 38 articles and book chapters. Dr. Macchiarella taught courses related to aeronautical science, simulation, and computer-based synthetic environments. His research efforts centered upon transfer of training, voice recognition, digital data communications, and interactive simulations for piloting and air traffic control.
