Air Oregon began in 1978 under the name Executive Flight Services, however in 1980 they changed the name to Air Oregon. Within a month of its incorporation it merged with another Oregon based carrier. By 1981 it operated 19- passenger Swearingen Metroliners, and was bought out by the owner of Golden Gate and Swift Air, and was ran as a separate operation.
