California Air Charter
California Air Charter began operations in1946, and registered as a Non- Certificated Irregular Air Carrier in 1947. It acquired C-47/ DC-3 aircraft in 1946 from the war surplus. Between 1950 and 1960 Cal Air engaged in military charter operations, and to and from Alaska with charter and contract air services. It's fleet contained DC-3, DC-4, and C-46 all bought on lease purchase plans. In 1958 the CAB brought an enforcement action against Cal Air leading to years of leagl battle where Cal Air was held back at every turn.
