Abstract
Our research is aimed to identify the strategic issues of Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB). This report provides general background information about the airport by defining the industry and revealing an external analysis of the airport industry by using Porter’s Five Forces. The report also includes the demographics of the area and the current trends in terms of travel. This strategic analysis compares DAB with its main competitors such as, Orlando International Airport, Jacksonville International Airport, and Sanford International Airport to understand the similarities and differences across several criteria. This document also utilizes a SWOT/TOWS model to identify our external and internal advantages and disadvantages. Internal environmental forces are discussed further by using appropriate analytical tools. Ultimately, this report has identified several strategic issues with viable recommendations deemed appropriate for each identified strategic issue.
