It will engage participants in activities to increase awareness of the many factors that determine how the language in pilot/ATCO communication is formed and used. Three areas will be covered: functional language in non-visual and visual communication, cultural awareness in a multi-cultural environment, and understanding real world language as trainers. The activities will highlight the importance of considering multiple factors in language use to give valid and meaningful learning of real-world communication to our learners.
