Description
This workshop is based on more than 10 years research and practice of teaching and testing English in aeronautical communication. It will engage participants in activities to increase awareness of the many factors that determine how the language in pilot/ATCO communication is formed and used. Three areas will be covered: functional language in non-visual and visual communication, cultural awareness in a multi-cultural environment, and understanding real world language as trainers. The activities will highlight the importance of considering multiple factors in language use to give valid and meaningful learning of real-world communication to our learners.
