The 2023 ICAEA International Conference was hosted by Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy from September 18th to 20th in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference theme, Current Trends and Future Perspectives in Aviation English Training: Developing Training for Today and Tomorrow, explored how technology played a role in Aviation English training and assessment during the pandemic and allowed participants the chance to reflect on how technology will continue to evolve and influence the field in the future.

More than 100 participants attended the event from all over the world, including Aviation English teachers, testers, researchers, and curriculum developers, as well as representatives from Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs), Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), and airlines.

ICAEA would like to sincerely thank Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy for its generous support of the event – and all the presenters and attendees for sharing their expertise and experience.

The ICAEA Proceedings 2023 are a collection of five articles written by speakers from the conference. The aim of the Proceedings is to disseminate knowledge and experiences in Aviation English to those interested to learn and develop in the field.
