Assistant Professor Andreas Wesemann, known as Professor Baron to his students, is the Director of the Aviation Technology – Professional Pilot Program at Utah State University. He achieved his dream of becoming a pilot after graduation and commissioning from the United States Air Force Academy and became in instructor pilot in five different aircraft. He was drawn to teaching throughout his distinguished military service. After retiring from his 27-year career, Professor Baron returned from the sky to become a full-time instructor at USU. He has developed a new online Master of Aviation Science degree and drone minor to expand education opportunities for students, and was selected as the Teacher of the Year for the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.
