Biography

Dr. Isaac Martinez is an Associate Professor, Lead Instructor, and Program Coordinator for the department of Aviation Maintenance Sciences at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida campus. In this role, Dr. Martinez is responsible for the administration of the department’s FAA regulatory compliance on two degree programs and supervises all relevant course scheduling. He also manages the department’s accreditation efforts under the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as all certification efforts under the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) accrediting body, which assesses the quality and rigor of both AMS programs as a whole. Dr. Martinez also teaches AABI certified maintenance technology courses to undergraduate students seeking an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certification under Title 14 CFR, part 147. He is also an adjunct instructor for the School of Graduate Studies under the College of Aviation teaching graduate-level courses.

Dr. Martinez is no stranger to sacrifice. He dedicated 24 years of his life in the service of his country via the U.S. Air Force during which time he deployed to various locations around the world in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He proudly earned the distinction of a senior non-commissioned officer with the rank of Master Sergeant. He received numerous Meritorious Service medals, as well as a number of Commendation and Achievement medals throughout his career.

Dr. Martinez is a Licensed Professional Aircraft Technician holding an Airframe and Powerplant certification since 1999. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University in Occupational Education and Training Methodology. He also received his Master of Science in Aeronautics degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and his Doctoral degree in Education from Walden University.
