Biography
Dr. Woodman joined Embry-Riddle in 2021. Holding degrees in clinical and developmental psychology, his contribution is predominantly to the forensic psychology program. Dr. Woodman’s primary focus is self-regulation, cognitive changes, and abuse prevention for older adults and children. Additionally, he has active projects with several faculty colleagues and student researchers in psychology, academic collaborators in biology, chemistry, and communications, and industry collaborations with Yavapai County courts and law enforcement.

Dr. Woodman has contributed to the implementation and creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) for ERAU students and beyond. In 2022, he collaborated with OpenStax to contribute chapters on adulthood for a Developmental Psychology textbook, which was published in October 2024 and integrated into his PSY 354 course as well as courses at other universities. Since 2021, he has also consistently used an open-source textbook for Introduction to Psychology (PSY 101), benefiting nearly 700 students across 12 sections in 3.5 years.
