Abstract
SAE International has a student section to provide engineering students a “real life engineering” in challenge, SAE Aero Design Series is held every spring. Society of Automotive Engineering International(SAE International) is a global association of engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive, and commercial-vehicle industries. At Aero Design Series, the teams compete against each other with original design R/C style aircraft. For the first time from ERAU Prescott, Sho Okayama is forming a team to compete at SAE Aero Design Contest.
SAE Aero Design Series has three different classes: regular, micro, and advanced. Each class has different missions. Our team is looking at the regular class since it is the fundamental of understanding aircrafts, and also this class is recommended for first year teams. This competition is not just flying, but teams are required to have technical report, presentation and inspection. The team will experience the process of real aircraft manufacturing, Designing, Building, Testing, Presentation, and competition. Real engineering “hands on” style experience will be held through the process, and we are going to compete for the first time on Spring of 2015.
