Abstract
Michael Collins, hero of the Irish fight for independence, developed one of the greatest networks of female spies the world has ever seen. By exploiting soldiers' natural weakness for women and the inherent aura of innocence associated with females, especially during wartime, the Irish resistance was able to carry out elaborate intelligence operations. The work of Michael Collins' female spies can be used to document the Irish fight for independence, relating every major event in the Irish fight to the operations of the female spies. These connections are clearly shown through a link analysis that correlates people, places, and events in an elaborate network. The connections and success shown by this link analysis can be further applied to the feasibility of a large-scale female intelligence networks, especially in regions such as the Middle East where women are continuously overlooked. The female spies of Michael Collins were invaluable to a revolution and may hold the secret to further revolutions.
