Description
The piece depicts a NASA rocket just after take off heading into space. Also featured in the piece are famous moments in space history such as the ISS, Sputnik, and 27 portraits of famous influencers in the space industry. The medium consists of not only acrylics but color shifting, metallic, and glow in the dark paints (which can't be seen in images). It also has a technical side to it. Around the edge of the painting are lights that are bound to astonish its viewers. And the pièce de résistance, are the two touchscreen displays with photos of the painting on them. They will be with the painting (and myself) and are enabled so that when anyone of the various people or space artifacts are selected on the screen, a description/fun fact slide pops up on the display about that person or space artifact. This enables the viewers to not only enjoy the painting but learn from it as well.
