Niki was a rescued paint horse who helped me improve my riding. She was not a fancy show horse like others at the barn, but she was my first choice as a partner and friend. She used to welcome me by getting her head out of the stall, and that's how I pictured her in this painting. I truly miss her and will never forget her.
