What were you doing on 9/11? (Or, What was your interviewee doing on 9/11?)

Earlier that morning I was tasked with dropping off recruits at the Miami MEPS and upon returning to my office I was attending a meeting with other recruiters at our recruiting station in Plantation, FL. We all normally come together and brief our plans for the day and give updates on the statuses of potential recruits.

How did 9/11 affect you personally and or professionally?

Even now, thinking about it…the images of the people in the towers...the first responders going to the towers as hundreds of people fled…and then seeing the towers fall, still gets my heart racing. Never, in my lifetime, did I ever imagine something like this happening. I felt a very strong sense of duty in needing to do something about it.
