Description
The Canaveral Council of Technical Societies (CCTS) is sponsoring a "Get Away Special" project in NASA's Small Self-Contained Payload Program. Trans World Airlines Services, Inc., is providing funds for leasing space aboard the Shuttle, some two and one-half cubic feet, which will be made available to the winner of a two-state competition. High School and College students form Florida and Georgia will be offered the opportunity to propose scientific experiments to fly in the space reserved. A panel of judges from the Academic and Space Communities will select the winning entry.
The paper will briefly describe the "Get Away Special" program, typical experiments already proposed , and some detail of the CCTS/ TWA sponsored contest.
