Description
Since the decision in 1993 to include Russian participation in building and assembling the International Space Station, the program has faced many challenges due to Russia’s political and economic situations. In spite of the challenges outside the control of Russian and American contractors for the Functional Energy Block (FGB), Khrunichev Space and Research Production Center and The Boeing Company established the standard for successful working relationships to deliver the first element of the ISS on time and within cost constraints! This was accomplished by identifying barriers, and working together to capitalize on differences in time, culture and language to focus on the job at hand.
