Presentation Description/Abstract
Selecting the right powerplant for the right airframe is becoming increasingly important as aviation pursues greater efficiency and sustainability. In this presentation, VerdeGo Aero examines this challenge through the perspective of a modern aircraft designer navigating emerging trends in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and electrified propulsion. Battery-electric and hybrid-electric powerplants are explored as alternatives to conventional propulsion, with an example mission comparing multiple airframe and powerplant combinations to a hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft. The comparison highlights how these design choices ultimately influence performance and environmental impact. The presentation concludes with a look at VerdeGo Aero’s product portfolio and what the company is currently developing to generate more sustainable possibilities in aerospace.
