Biography
Mr Sia is the Chief Executive of the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore), a not-for-profit corporate membership organization representing the Aerospace industry in Singapore.
Sia serves on the Advisory Boards of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers and the Singapore Space and Technology Association. He is also a senior member of the Institution of Engineers, sitting on the Aerospace Engineering Technical Committee.
Before joining the Association, Sia worked at the Singapore Economic Development Board (1993-2016), the lead government agency for planning and executing strategies that shape the future of Singapore’s economy. He was responsible for the planning and initial implementation of Seletar Aerospace Park, the establishment of the Singapore Airshow, and other infrastructure projects. He also served as Director for the Aerospace research programme at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (2011-12).
Sia holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Masters degree in Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University.
