Shield's B. Craft began the Standard Airways operation in 1946 as a non-scheduled charter company. It started with two DC-3's out of San Diego CA and Seattle WA, and flew cargo and service men who had been discharged or on short leave. It later began its "Pink Cloud" services in a DC-6B flying passangers from California to Hawaii and back.
