Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will host a meeting for professionals who supervise and manage flight training operations. This day of short presentations, discussions, and networking is aimed at building relationships between leaders at flight training organizations.
Following two days of NTAS 2024, exploring the future of Advanced Air Mobility and considering the challenges of Aviation Mental Health, meet with colleagues who are working with the next generation of pilots.
Chief instructors and flight directors are invited to this free event to discuss current concerns and issues related to training operations.
The key objectives of the meeting are to:
- Increase collaboration within the training sector
- Improve efficiency, quality, and safety in training operations
- Consider challenges and identify best practices
- Establish a recurring group to represent our collective interests
The kinds of topics the group would like to address over time include, but are not limited to the following:
- Academic registration process for flight training
- Aircraft maintenance trends and issues
- Competency-based training
- Enhanced safety training
- Use of VR in flight training
- Flight instructor training and qualifications
- Flight instructor supervision
- Flight instructor turnover
- Examiner availability
- Managing flight training operations
- Staff salary demands
While in-person attendance is preferred, an online option is available. When registering, please indicate whether you will attend in-person or online. Roundtable organizers will email a meeting link to those opting for the online option in advance of the event.
