Abstract

The Flightless Eagles team designed and constructed a 22-foot human-powered glider for participation in the Red Bull Flugtag competition, integrating principles of aerodynamics, structural engineering, and creative design. The project emphasized a collaborative, iterative development process, from conceptual sketches and scaled models to full-scale fabrication and testing. Using lightweight materials and aerodynamic optimization techniques, the team sought to maximize glide performance while maintaining visual and structural creativity. This project served as an interdisciplinary exercise in teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering application, bridging theoretical design with real-world implementation.
