Abstract
This poster focuses on the creative process of communicating about travel. No genre of writing combines the best practices of creative writing and journalism like travel writing. The genre, often labeled under the broader umbrella of creative non-fiction, combines the creative techniques of fiction with the reporting techniques of journalism. The course, which was taught in the Spring 2014, culminated with a week-long trip to Greece that served as the foundation for students to practice and master learning outcomes. Student work was posted on course web site designed and maintained by the students, which includes images and video in addition to various forms of travel articles/essays.
