Day 2 - A1: Security and Automation: Carina Maloney

Carina Maloney is a recently retired U.S. Naval Officer and aviator with more than 25 years of active-duty service. She accumulated over 2,400 flight hours across multiple aviation platforms, flying primarily the F/A-18C Hornet and the C-9B Skytrain in operational, instructional, and logistics roles. She brings extensive test and evaluation expertise, including service as an Operational Test Director for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter. Beyond her operational aviation career, Ms. Maloney held multiple senior executive leadership positions, overseeing large, diverse teams and enabling mission accomplishment across complex organizations. Her leadership assignments included Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base New Orleans and Navy Reserve Center Atlanta.

Following her military career, Ms. Maloney joined HNTB through the Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship Program, where she supports the firm’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) initiatives, leveraging her background in aviation operations, test and evaluation, and strategic planning. She is currently serving FDOT as Florida's AAM Principal of Air and Ground System Development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
