Day 2 - A3: Airspace & Air Traffic: Will Hutson
Will Hutson is a seasoned aviation professional with over 20 years of experience in air traffic control and traffic management. As the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Representative for the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), he serves as a critical bridge between FAA leadership, industry innovators, and the operational workforce. In this role, he has been instrumental in shaping policies and procedures that support the safe, scalable integration of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the National Airspace System, while also coordinating operational demonstrations and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) simulations.
Will’s deep operational expertise is rooted in his experience at high-volume, complex FAA facilities, including the Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center, George Bush Intercontinental Tower, and Denver Tower. An aviator at heart, he began flying at age 15 and holds a private pilot certificate with an instrument rating. He is an alumnus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Air Traffic Management
