Civil Engineering – Soils Mechanics Laboratory

Soil mechanics lab is where Civil Engineering students learn how to classify the different types of soils according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). They also learn how to test the soils for their physical, hydraulic and mechanical properties. These properties help identify the suitability of soils as foundations support and as construction materials.
