Biography
Gareth Williams has 16 years English teaching experience in Asia and the Middle East. He is currently the head of an aviation English department in a flight academy based in the UAE. Gareth holds the DELTA qualification from Cambridge University with a specialism in aviation English curriculum development. He holds an MA TESOL from Leicester University, with a minor specialism in task-based aviation English syllabus design and a thesis in aviation English testing. Gareth is a PhD candidate at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. His research interests include investigating attitudes towards ICAO English testing requirements and unconscious cultural bias in aeronautical communications.
