Call for Abstracts

The ISARRA 2026 Conference committee invites all members and non-members to submit Paper Presentation and Poster Presentation abstracts for their research, product development, and applications in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), with a focus on, but not limited to: 

1- Airframe developments. 

  1. Advances in flight envelope (faster, higher, longer, enhanced weather resistance, larger sensor payloads).
  2. Advances in automation.
  3. Advances in unattended operations.
  4. Advances in swarm technologies.

2- Sensor calibration and system characterization. 

  1. Newsensors and characterization methods. 
  2. Novel laboratory setups.
  3. Low-cost methods.
  4. Field repeatable methods.
  5. Considerations in sensor placement and payload development.
  6. Advances in remote sensing with UAS.

3- Field Campaigns and Deployments using UAS. 

  1. Campaign design.
  2. Valuable operational lessons.
  3. Scientific results.
  4. Intercomparison andcollocatedefforts. 

4- Advances in UAS data distribution and integration. 

  1. Novel software, visualization, and post-processing techniques.
  2. Data format standardization.
  3. Data sharing and science communication.

5- Research to Operations (R2O). 

  1. Case studies in operational applications.
  2. Data assimilation and operational workflow.
  3. Successful waiver request strategies.

6- Leveraging and Supporting Commercial UAS Operations. 

  1. Commercial Operator weather needs.
  2. Observations and predictions for supporting commercial UAS operations.
  3. Observations of opportunity / crowd sourcing weather data from commercial UAS.
  4. Assessing the value of commercial UAS observations on modelskill.

7- Other UAS-related Topics. 

Abstract Template & Deadlines 

Please use MS Word or Overleaf and the template provided for the submission of your abstract. Download the abstract template

The deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday, April 24, 2026. The acceptance responses will be sent out on Friday, May 18, 2026. 

Following the conference, PDF versions of presentations approved by presenters will be published here on the ISARRA 2026 conference web page.

Submission Information  

The ISARRA 2026 Conference will feature Paper Presentations and Poster Presentations.  

Please use your Scholarly Commons account to log in and submit your abstract on the ISARRA 2026 conference website. Access your account (or create an account) by clicking on My Account on the top of the page.   

  • Please read the Submission Agreement and check the box on the bottom of the page and click Continue. 
  • Please include a precise title for the presentation.  
  • For Presentation Type, please select Paper or Poster.  
  • Enter the Presenter’s (aka the Author’s) email address, full name, and affiliation (e.g., Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Oklahoma State University, NOAA, etc.) in the appropriate fields.  
  • Information for all co-presenters should be entered, as well. Click on Add Author to add presenters.
  • Scroll down to enter Keywords.   
  • Then scroll down to the field marked Presenter Abstract and paste your text there. Please use the template provided and do not include the title “Abstract” in your text.   
  • You may include a Biography and upload a Headshot, if you wish.   
  • Upload additional Biographies and/or Headshots by ticking the box to add files. 
  • Select Submit at the bottom of the submission form.   

The conference committee will communicate with the presenter(s) at the email address(es) associated with their Scholarly Commons account.
