Abstract
From House to Home explores my experiences as a young woman in a country where I felt I did not belong. Half Asian, half Latina, but full American makes filling every shoe thrown at you difficult. Throughout my series of poems, we will go through family turmoil, realization, loss, navigating adulthood, meeting the love of my life, and ultimately starting a family of my very own. As human beings, all we can do is try to do better than what was done before us. It is our turn to end generational, cultural, and social trauma.
Bio
A veteran, a mom, a wife, a sister, and most of all, a first-generation American daughter.
