Abstract
In "I Choose…", Violet Strawberington, a Manhattan barista and student, struggles with financial pressures stemming from her academic pursuits. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she learns of a substantial inheritance from her conservative great-great-aunt, contingent upon marrying a suitor from a predetermined list. Violet meets two suitors: Erik Chefmore, a charming investment banker, and Robert Mossborn, an emotionally distant philosophy professor. Torn between her feminist ideals and personal desires, Violet has to decide what matters more to her: equality or chivalry.
