Abstract
Imogen Hawthorne spent the last decade of her life married to a controlling, abusive, alcoholic man. After fleeing their home in Winter Harbor, Maine, Imogen moves to Savannah, GA, and purchases an old apothecary. Desperately trying to start over, she fears it's only a matter of time before her husband tracks her down. While renovating the apothecary, Imogen is presented with a disturbing opportunity to stop her abuser for good. The Apothecary explores moral duality, karma, and whether one can truly find closure after enduring years of trauma.
Bio
I am a senior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, pursuing a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in Engineering Sciences and minors in Project Management and Aviation Safety. I am married to my best friend and we share 2 beautiful (grown and almost grown!) children. My little family is my world.
I began my journey at ERAU in 2020 after working in aerospace quality for 15 years. Always the underdog without a degree, ERAU has helped marry my practical experience in the industry with a formal education. In addition to attending ERAU, I am also a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and just became AS9100:2016 (Rev D) Lead Auditor certified through ASQ.
Born and raised in Connecticut, I fell in love with Savannah, GA after first visiting back in 2010 and am relocating to the area in 2025. While writing has taken a backseat to my family and career over the past 20 years, the spark has been reignited and there is no better muse for Southern Gothic fiction than the Hostess City.
