Abstract
Set against the unforgiving, wintery backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains in West Virginia, "Echoes of the Mountain" is a gripping wilderness survival story that explores the bond between man and dog, and the limits of human endurance. The narrative follows Silas, a rugged former military aircraft maintainer, who ventures off-trail into treacherous terrain to recover his lost coonhound, Echo. During his descent into a remote, darkening holler, a catastrophic fall leaves Silas with a severely injured leg, trapped directly in the path of an incoming snowstorm.
