Biography
Dr. Jayendra Gokhale is Associate Professor in the College of Business at the Daytona Beach Campus. He has taught Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, International Economics, Corporate Finance and Econometrics. His areas of research are Financial Economics, Industrial Organization and applied Micro‐econometrics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics at Oregon State University, MBA in Finance at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and his undergraduate degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. His research interests are in industry research, event studies in aviation and non‐aviation, new techniques to determine noise trading in financial markets and motion pictures. Along with many academic publications, Jayendra is also currently creating an open textbook through Eagle Pubs with Associate Professor Hari Adhikari.

Dr. Jay not only has produced an OER with his college Dr. Hari Adhikari but he also openly speaks about the democratic and access reasons to promote OER use across campus. I appreciate that Dr. Jay is enthusiastic towards OER use and uses his experience creating an OER to teach others about the process and the value of OERs. Since Dr. Jay's experience, we've had a second faculty pair from the OCOB commit to creating an OER. -- Faculty Nomination
