There are a couple of objectives of this video. First, to demonstrate that sometimes things don't go right, and you have to identify an alternate means of achieving your task. Problem solving is important! Second, Dr. Craiger demonstrates a couple of ways to calculate cryptographic one-way hashing using Windows tools.
