Personal Reflection
What were you doing on 9/11? (Or, What was your interviewee doing on 9/11?)
I was three years old in my home in Virginia Beach. I have no memory of the event due to my age, but the poignant part of this event is when I look at a photograph of my parents and I standing atop the South Tower in May of 2001. The towers represented American and World prosperity.
How did 9/11 affect you personally and or professionally?
Professionally, it impacts my military career. We operate in a post 9/11 age. Personally, I am exposed to many Americans whose lives were changed by this event. Many joined the military or tried to contribute to their country in some way. This sense of civic duty and belonging personally drives me to give something back to our country and community.
