The Department of Aviation English training is for those who do not speak the language or are looking to develop their English proficiency for aviation operations. Drawing on Embry-Riddle’s over 95 years of aviation education and research, the aviation English team helps aviation organizations and professionals worldwide develop better English language skills and ultimately enhance global aviation safety.

Embry-Riddle's aviation language experts have developed online, in-person and blended language training programs and assessments for aviation professionals, such as commercial pilots, aircraft maintenance staff, cabin crew and customer service representatives, and are based on the needs of individual organizations.

All faculty members hold master’s degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and are experienced in teaching English for pilots. They work in collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University faculty, flight instructors and air traffic control subject matter experts.
