Biographical Sketch
Corinne Louise Smith started seaplane flight training at Embry-Riddle at the seaplane base in Miami in 1941 while she worked as a secretary in the Embry-Riddle Purchasing Department. She attained her private pilot license for both sea and land planes and moved to the Link Simulator Department at the Embry-Riddle facility in Coral Gables. Within a short time she was promoted to head the department. In her four year career at Embry-Riddle, Corinne rose from secretary to flight instructor and major department head and attained a status equaled by few women at the time.
