Description
The Mechanical Engineering department at UNCC has been growing at about eight percent per year for the last decade. This paper describes how the authors were able to restructure the undergraduate core laboratory program with a hierarchal teaching assistant structure which easily accommodates student growth. With this structure, we were able to reduce laboratory size, add a fourth laboratory course, instill structured teaching assistant training and grade, with consistency, thousands of student submissions each semester.
