Abstract/Description
A unique opportunity to join us for a very special event. 2026 is 85 years since the first British RAF cadets were sent across the Atlantic to train as pilots and earn their ‘Wings’ before returning to Britain to play their part in the Allied War effort. Over 10,000 RAF pilots were trained in this way during 1941-45. Very few of those who were alive at that time are still around to remember these days. However we are now inviting all family, descendants and friends of those pilots who trained in the USA at any of the seven British Flying Training Schools (BFTS) or the Arnold Scheme to join us to share our memories of these brave young men. A rare opportunity to meet with others like you who wish to honour their memory.
